KOCHI: The number of persons who recovered from Covid-19 in Kerala on Thursday was more than those infected. The state reported 8,733 new cases, while 9,855 recovered from the infection. However, the death toll once again crossed 100 with 118 deaths.
The worst affected districts are Ernakulam (1,434), followed by Thiruvananthapuram (1,102), Thrissur (1,031), Kozhikode (717), Kottayam (659), Kollam (580), Pathanamthitta (533), Kannur (500), Malappuram (499), Palakkad (439), Idukki (417), Alappuzha (369), Wayanad (288) and Kasaragod (165).
As many as 86,303 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. As per the weekly infection population ratio (WIPR), 211 wards in 158 local bodies are having a WIPR above 10%.
There are currently 2,86,888 people under surveillance in various districts. Of these, 2,77,907 are under home or institutional quarantine and 8,981 are under observation in Covid hospitals. A total of 667 people were newly admitted to the hospital.
