Kerala high court orders correction of vaccination data on CoWin portal

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday directed for correcting the wrong information regarding Covid-19 vaccination of a person on CoWin portal.

Justice PV Unnikrishnan issued the directive after considering a petition filed by KP John of Ernakulam.

John had availed the first and second dose of vaccines from a centre at Aluva but the certificate showed that the second dose was administered at a centre at Ernakulam. His client had never gone to Ernakulam during this period, a counsel representing the petitioner had told the court.

The 73-year-old petitioner sought a correction after being unable to go abroad to meet his children. Though a corrected vaccination certificate was issued to the petitioner after he approached the high court, the details on the CoWin portal are still incorrect, his counsel had argued.

A petition was filed before the high court after a letter sent to the district medical officer and a legal notice to the hospital failed to yield any result, the court was told.
