KOCHI: Ernakulam on Thursday reported 1,434 Covid positive cases with a test positivity rate of 10.99%. As many as four INHS staff and three healthcare workers are also among the new positive cases.
Highest cases of the day were reported from Thrikkakara (68), Chittatukara (63) and Tripunithura (40).
Less than five cases were reported from 27 places in the district. As many as 1,072 persons recovered from the infection on Thursday when 164 were discharged.
Fifty-two patients were admitted either to hospitals or Covid first-line treatment centres. The number of patients undergoing treatment at hospitals and at houses touched 12,305 on Thursday.
The control room received 502 calls. Counselling was given to 1,632 people.
As many as 33,821 people are under home quarantine in the district. A total of 13,054 samples were sent for testing.
As many as 22,950 doses of vaccine against Covid-19 were administered on beneficiaries on Thursday. Of these 3,376 were first doses and the rest second doses. With this, 45,65,550 doses of vaccine were administered in the district so far. Of these, 29,34,298 are first doses.
