Kerala: Engineering/pharmacy entrance exams on August 5

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state entrance examination to select candidates, who are eligible for admission to engineering/pharmacy courses in professional institutions in Kerala, would be held on August 5. The decision to conduct state entrance examination on August 5 was arrived at a meeting between higher education minister R Bindu and state entrance commissioner A Geetha. Earlier, the state government had cancelled its schedule as per which the state entrance test was to be conducted on July 24.

This date for the state entrance examination was revised since it clashed with the JEE examination date.

Meanwhile, candidates can make changes, if required, in their profiles which they can access by clicking on the candidate portal link provided on the commissioner’s website (www.cee.kerala.gov.in). The opportunity to correct the shortcomings marked in the profiles can be carried out by candidates till 2pm on July 17.

The education department drew severe criticism last year when it conducted the entrance examination amid the first wave of Covid-19 in Kerala. A few Covid positive candidates attended the test from hospitals.

In sensitive places where the prevalence of Covid-19 disease was on the higher side, special arrangements were made. The government is yet to announce the detailed arrangements being put in place this time for the conduct of the KEAM entrance examination.
