KOZHIKODE: In a tragic incident, a one and-a-half-year-old child died after a beetle got stuck in his trachea in Kasaragod The cause of the death of S Anved, son of A Sathyendran and Ranjini, who had died on Saturday, was revealed following the postmortem conducted on Sunday.
According to the family, the toddler who was playing inside his house developed uneasiness and fell unconscious around 6.30pm.
Though he was immediately taken to a private hospital and later to the Kasaragod general hospital by a neighbour, he could not be saved.
The forensic surgeons who performed postmortem at the general hospital recovered a small beetle from his respiratory tract. After the inquest by Kasaragod Town Police, the funeral was held at Chennikkara public cemetery. The couple has a two-year-old son Rithved.
