PANAJI: Kerala Blasters have not paid the fine for their walkout against Bengaluru FC during the stipulated two weeks and have told the All India Football Federation (AIFF) that they are appealing the sanctions with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, CAS is the world’s premier forum for resolving sporting disputes.
The AIFF’s disciplinary committee had fined Kerala Blasters Rs 4 crore and said the act of abandoning the game or bringing a match into disrepute was “unacceptable as it undermines the values of fair play, respect and integrity.”
Blasters’ coach Ivan Vukomanovic, who led the walkout at the Sree Kanteerava stadium in Bengaluru, protesting against a perceived unfair decision that led to Sunil Chhetri scoring a goal in extra time, was banned for 10 games and fined Rs 5 lakh.

Blasters appealed the decision but AIFF appeals committee turned it down early this month and, in its order dated June 2, asked the club to pay the fine within two weeks.
“Kerala Blasters have filed an appeal with CAS,” a source who has tracked the development told TOI on Friday. “However, there is still some time for the club to file in detail which should be done in the next one or two weeks.”
