Kepa Arrizabalaga for Jan Oblak and four swap deals Marina Granovskaia and Chelsea must sanction

Chelsea are splashing the cash this summer as Frank Lampard looks to improve his squad ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner have already completed moves to Stamford Bridge, with Kai Havertz expected to follow in a big-money deal.

That won't be the end of Chelsea's spending as the club need to address their defensive issues after conceding 54 goals in 38 Premier League games this term.

As well as talk of the head coach bringing in a new goalkeeper due to Kepa Arrizabalaga's form, the Blues could also do with looking at centre-back and left-back.

The defenders Chelsea have been linked with

However, it means the FA Cup finalists would have to spend big once again if they are to fix things and climb up the league table and challenge for major honours in the process.

One way of keeping money down and ensuring that the club strengthen in key areas would be to include players in deals.

With that in mind, we at football.london have decided to take a look at some stars that Chelsea could send the other way in order to get the players Lampard wants in through the door.

Kepa Arrizabalaga for Jan Oblak

It has not been a good end to the season for Kepa as he has found himself on the bench in the team's past two games.

The Spaniard has just not justified his huge price tag in his two years in the capital and it may see Lampard look elsewhere for a new No.1.

Atletico Madrid ace Jan Oblak has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea but the Blues would have to meet his €120m release clause if they desperately want to sign the Slovenian.

One way of bringing the eye-watering fee right down would be to include Kepa in the deal.

A move would no doubt appeal to the Spaniard as he could return home, while Diego Simeone's men would be getting a goalkeeper, who previously excelled in La Liga, as part of the transfer.

Ross Barkley for Declan Rice

The England international has been a standout player for the Hammers over the past couple of years and he continues to be linked with a return to the Blues following his time at the club as a youngster.

West Ham just don't want to part with their most valuable asset and it would take a huge fee for them to even consider selling the 21-year-old.

If Lampard is intent on signing the player then he could look to include Ross Barkley to drive the price down.

The midfielder is well known to David Moyes following their time together at Everton and he could be a real asset to the east London club if he finds his best form.

Marcos Alonso for Jose Gimenez

It's not just Oblak who has been linked with a move from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea as Jose Gimenez has also been mentioned.

The centre-back could just be what the Blues need to help solve their issues at the back but, as is the case with teammate Oblak, he also has a €120m release clause.

That's just not going to be doable with other areas of the pitch to strengthen as well, although it doesn't necessarily mean he would be sold for that enormous figure if Atleti decide to let him go.

Marcos Alonso would be the player to include in this deal as he has been linked with a move to the Spanish capital in the past.

As the ex-Bolton man has been tipped to leave this summer as he's failed to convince Lampard that he's the answer to their left-back woes, it may be wise to offer him to the Spanish giants if they want to sign Gimenez.

Michy Batshuayi for Ben Chilwell

Chelsea may have to shell out around £80m this summer if they want Ben Chilwell to answer their left-back issues.

The England international has been linked with a move to one of the Premier League's best sides over the past 12 months following his good form for the Foxes.

Brendan Rodgers is building a young side at the King Power Stadium and he will certainly not want to let his player go unless they get an offer they cannot refuse.

Leicester aren't exactly blessed with a number of strikers and a deal involving Michy Batshuayi could be appealing as they look for more firepower upfront.

While the deal would see the Europa League qualifiers still need a left-back, Rodgers could use the money they receive to bring in a replacement.

Kenedy for Nicolas Tagliafico

A cheaper alternative to Chilwell is Ajax ace Nicolas Tagliafico.

The Argentina left-back looks a certainty to leave Amsterdam in the near future and £22m could be required to clinch a deal for the highly-rated player.

While the Blues have the finances to get a deal done, they could ensure they save a bit more cash by sending Kenedy in the opposite direction.

The Brazilian just isn't going to be part of Lampard's long-term plans and he can take Tagliafico's left-back position at the Johan Cruiff ArenA or even play in a more advanced role.
