Keon Lincoln investigation: Police make two further arrests

Police investigating the killing of 15-year-old schoolboy Keon Lincoln in Birmingham have made two further arrests.

Detective Chief Inspector Alastair Orencas said: "Earlier today we arrested a 21-year-old man in relation to conspiracy to commit murder and I can reveal in the last hour we have arrested a second male, a 15-year-old.

"This is a really fast-moving inquiry. We are dealing with a real volume of information but it is gathering a real pace, and I'm very pleased and very proud of the engagement from the community."

Five other suspects aged between 14 and 16 have been released on bail.

Lincoln was attacked by a group of youths in the Linwood Road area of Handsworth, about three miles from Birmingham city centre, just after 3.30pm last Thursday.

He was taken to hospital but died as a result of his injuries.

A post mortem examination revealed he was shot and stabbed to death.

The suspects fled in a white car, which crashed in nearby Wheeler Street, police said last week.

Officers are speaking to witnesses and checking CCTV in the area. The car was seized for forensic examination.

Anyone who witnessed the killing should contact police on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
