Kenyan Drake describes Brian Flores as “serious but personable”

Miami Dolphins running back Kenyan Drake has been quite vocal in his support of new Dolphins head coach Brian Flores over the latter’s first few months at the helm of the Dolphins. Drake — who spent most of the 2018 season in former coach Adam Gase’s doghouse — has been refreshed by Flores’ demeanor with his players.

The Dolphins’ running back made a stop yesterday on ‘Good Morning Football’ and he doubled down on his enthusiasm.

It’s a great change of pace from Gase for sure, considering how much friction Gase’s demeanor introduced to the Dolphins’ locker room. What does Drake appreciate most?

“(Flores) is always gonna keep it one hundred with you…Regardless of what you want to hear, it’s gonna be the truth and you can’t do anything but respect that,” said Drake.

Is he funny though?

“Yeah, like I said he’s personable. So he gets up there in front of the team every morning, gives his spiel, throws a couple jokes in there every now and then…he’s cool.”

Winning is cool, too — that’s what Flores’ Dolphins will need to do in order to keep things cohesive in the locker room for the long haul. For now, though? This is a great start.
