US president Barack Obama is preparing to make a historic visit to Kenya next weekend – a return to his father’s homeland for during his presidency, which has been compared to ‘JFK going back to Ireland’.

The Guardian’s Murithi Mutiga has reported from Nairobi that the country is in a grip of Obama-mania, with newspapers speculating about every detail of his trip – from the security detail to new roads – whilst the Daily Nation gave tips for Kenyans wishing to capitalise on the visit: from selling memorabilia to cashing in on tourist numbers.

If you live in Kenya, or are there on holiday, we’d like to see how the preparations are coming along.

Are there flags lining the streets? What are the newspapers saying? Have you spotted a favourite billboard or bumper sticker? Maybe you’ve bought a special t-shirt, or kitted out your home for the occasion?
