It’s as if Kentucky was waiting for the real season to start.
Abilene Christian is a good, sound team that just got throttled by the Wildcats in a brutal 79-44 blowout. The offense ripped it up from the start, but it was the defense that held the ACU Wildcats to just 13 first half points and took the game away instantly.
Great on the free throw line all season long, UK kept is all going hitting 15-of-19, but there was hardly any pressure. There’s not going to be anything from three – they just can’t and don’t shoot from outside – but they rebound absolutely everything. They were fifth in the nation in rebounding margin this season, and it showed, owning the class on ACU 44-17.
The ten turnovers weren’t great, but in general, the mistakes are kept to a minimum. As long as they don’t have to crank it up from outside, they’re fine.

Just when it seemed like the Terriers were going to give the game away, the threes returned, the free throws were there, and the team roared back to beat Seton Hall 84-68. They nailed 13-of-28 from beyond the arc, hit 19-of-23 free throws, and didn’t buckle. Now they’ve won 21 straight – they know how to win.
And they know how to score in and score and score some more. Second in the nation in three-point shooting, they move the ball around well – even though they didn’t do it well enough against Seton Hall – and they’re used to playing high-scoring shootouts. Kentucky can put points on the board, too.
What’s Going To Happen
This will be fascinating.
Wofford lives on the three, and Kentucky can take it or leave it. UK’s big issue is its three point defense – it’s not good enough.
The Terriers will shoot and shoot and shoot some more, and they’re not going to care about getting into a wild and crazy scoring-fest. However, Kentucky isn’t Seton Hall.
The Wildcats will get on the move enough to get their easy points, and they’ll hound the Wofford bombers just enough to keep then quiet for a few key stretches. Seton Hall managed to outbound the Terriers by six. Expect Kentucky to do that by double-digits.
