Why Kentucky Will Win
Arkansas just can’t get the offense going consistently enough.
It doesn’t have enough of a rushing attack to count on, it’s not able to control games, and even though the passing game is working, the O isn’t doing enough to put points on the board when it’s getting its chances.
This is when the rested Kentucky defense has to rise up and rock.
The Wildcats aren’t getting enough out of their own offense, but the defense is doing a terrific job against the okay passing teams. Florida was able to get enough out of Feleipe Franks and Kyle Trask to hit the 300-yard mark, but the UK secondary hasn’t allowed a touchdown pass in the last two games and gave up just three all year.
The pass rush is just okay, and there are a few problems on third down stops, but the defense won’t let the game get out of hand – this isn’t when the Arkansas offense is going to burst. However …

Why Arkansas Will Win
The Kentucky offense is a disaster.
It wasn’t anything special to start, and it’s struggled way, way too much since starting quarterback Terry Wilson went down. Sawyer Smith had a solid game against Florida, but he threw three picks. He threw for over 230 yards against Mississippi State, but he wasn’t accurate.
Nothing worked against South Carolina, completing just 34% of his passes for 90 yards. He was banged up, though, and he got a few weeks off to rest up, but the UK O just isn’t working.
And then there’s the UK D.
It’s okay, but it’s hardly the killer that last year’s was, and it’s awful on third downs. The Wildcats are dead last among SEC teams in third down stops, and with that combined with the problems with the passing game, this is a reeling team going against a desperate one.

What’s Going To Happen
Arkansas is way, way, way overdue for a little bit of luck.
It played okay against Texas A&M, and lost. It hasn’t been able to do anything ease, but it’s going against a Kentucky team that’s making everything look hard.
Smith will be a bit sharper with the time off, being at home will help, and the Wildcats will survive a push from the Hogs to pull off an ugly win.
