Kentucky’s Josh Allen will meet with Lions on pre-draft visit

Kentucky EDGE Josh Allen is scheduled to meet with the Detroit Lions on an official pre-draft visit later this week, per a report from Tom Pelissero of NFL.com and confirmed by a team source.

Allen is definitely a possibility for the Lions at No. 8 overall in the first round…if he lasts that long. The highly productive SEC Defensive Player of the Year could go as high as No. 2 overall to the San Francisco 49ers.

The 6-5, 262-pounder bagged 17.5 sacks and 21 TFLs in his final season for the Wildcats. He has experience playing in multiple fronts, both as a DE and OLB in a versatile manner the Lions covet in Matt Patricia’s defense.

Allen is also meeting with the 49ers this week.
