Kentucky quarterback Gunnar Hoak to transfer to Ohio State

More quarterback help is on the way for the Buckeyes, as they have landed Gunner Hoak, who announced on Twitter that he his transferring to Ohio State.

The 6-foot-4 signal caller played at Dublin Coffman High School in Columbus before signing his letter of intent to the University of Kentucky. His father also played for Earle Bruce, so the Ohio State connections run deep.

After sitting out his freshman season in 2017, Hoak saw limited action as a sophomore, completing 13-of-26 passes for 167 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in Lexington.

Possessing just two quarterbacks on the depth chart this week, the Buckeyes have now landed two more quarterbacks in under 24 hours with Hoak and J.P. Andrade, who signed as a preferred walk-on Friday.

Here is the complete release on Twitter by Hoak.

Hoak is scheduled to graduate this spring and will be immediately eligible with two full years of eligibility left. He should factor into the backup quarterback race immediately.
