Kentucky furniture store gets ultra petty with ‘Duke got the hell kicked out of them’ sale

Kentucky’s season ended in Sunday’s Elite Eight loss to Auburn, which had to be a disappointment for Wildcats fans. All that was separating them from a Final Four was a conference rival that had never reached a Final Four in program history (a team that had lost by 27 to Kentucky), and the Wildcats still couldn’t pull off the win.

But hey, Duke also lost.

For Hazard Furniture in Hazard, Ky., Duke’s Elite Eight loss to Michigan State inspired the store to launch a “Duke got the hell kicked out of them” sale. They were celebrating Duke’s loss with up to 48 months interest free* and 70-percent off furniture. Yeah, there was an asterisk.

The store even aired commercials on Kentucky radio to promote the sale because … well … Duke lost.

Obviously, this sale comes from a Kentucky fan who is still bitter about Christian Laettner’s buzzer-beater in 1992. T Hazard Furniture Davis’ Facebook page made sure to note the Christian Laettner hatred in some, uh, interesting graphics.

This pettiness is truly next level. It would’ve been one thing to celebrate the Duke loss if Kentucky had made the Final Four, but both teams lost in the Elite Eight.

Kentucky doesn’t have much room to talk here, but at the same time, Kentucky didn’t have Zion Williamson. Now it all makes sense.
