The cornerback tour continues in Allen Park. This time it’s Kentucky’s Lonnie Johnson making his official visit with the Detroit Lions.
Johnson posted a quick picture of the doors to the Lions facility on Instagram. He has previously met with the team at the Senior Bowl in January as well as an informal interview during the combine in Indianapolis.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound corner brings ample size and experience playing press man coverage for the Wildcats. Johnson clocked a 4.5 in the 40 at the combine but didn’t always play to that speed on the outside. He’s very good against the run and at handling bigger wideouts, though he failed to record a single INT in his college career.
