Ten homes, a pub and a medical centre were all flooded following a major water main burst in Kentish Town.
Properties were flooded with metre-deep water after the 18-inch water main flooded streets between Leighton Road and Kentish Town High Street.
The basements of the Caversham Group Practice and ten nearby homes were filled with water, the London Fire Brigade said.
Two shops and a pub were also flooded by 50cm deep water.
An answering message at the Caversham Group Practice confirmed the medical centre had been closed due to flooding.
The message explained: “The surgery has now closed due to a burst water main in the high street and the surgery is flooded.”
Footage shared on social media showed water pouring down hill from Kentish Town station on the main road.

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters have been tackling flooding around Lady Margaret Road, the LFB added.
The Brigade was first called at 7.46am on Friday and the incident was over for firefighters by 11.13am.
A cordon was put in place and firefighters carried out a systematic search of the affected properties and rescued a man from a rear garden.
He was treated by at the scene by doctors.
Flood defence barriers, sandbags and pumps were used to divert flood water.
Thames Water said it was working closely with emergency services to assess the site and make sure it is safe for its team to begin repairs.
Customers had been left with no water in the NW1, NW3 and NW5 postcodes while the pipe was burst.
