Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (ankle) will sit Monday’s game

The Los Angeles Lakers, who are already dealing with major issues as far as guard depth is concerned, will have to go into their next game with even less of a backcourt. But the good news for them is that this latest backcourt absence won’t be longterm.

Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel told reporters on Sunday afternoon that the Lakers will be without starting shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, after KCP rolled his ankle in last night’s loss against the Indiana Pacers. Thankfully for L.A., the injury isn’t serious and the Lakers are just being cautious with one of the few healthy guards on their roster.

The Lakers have lost three straight games in the bubble, only their second such streak this season, other than a 4-game losing streak back in December. The Lakers will have an opportunity to snap their losing streak and avoid tying their season-worst stretch tomorrow against Denver.
