Kent State might not be anything special quite yet under head coach Sean Lewis, but there’s been promise.
The team took its expected lumps against Arizona State, Auburn and Wisconsin, but the blowout win over Bowling Green a few weeks ago showed the promise and potential of what the O can do.
And now the Golden Flashes have an honest shot of being 2-0 in MAC play against an Akron team that’s making a bid to be slightly worse than Bowling Green.
The Zips are last in the nation generating third down stops, they can’t come up with a lick of pressure, and the running attack is the worst in college football. Kent State has an efficient enough passing game to keep the chains moving and get up fast.
Akron won’t have the offense to keep up, and the lack of production from the defensive front will get its secondary picked clean.
