Kent media group to cut 60 jobs

More than 60 jobs are under threat at the Kent Messenger group's newspapers and radio stations. Four district offices are slated for closure. The group, which owns the Medway Messenger and Kentish Gazette, claims that its newspapers have a total weekly readership of 927,000 while its seven radio stations attract 154,000 listeners a week. But a story carried on its own website, reports a 25-30% decline in revenues, a fall of £9m in a full year. (Via holdthefrontpage)
