
A Kent man has appeared in court charged with the rape and sexual assault of underage boys in the 1990s.
Robert Wain, 58, appeared on bail at Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday charged with:
- Six counts of rape of a male under 16 years;
- One count of rape of a male 16 years or over;
- Eighteen counts of indecent assault of a boy under 16 years;
- One count of attempted indecent assault of a boy under 16 years.
Wain, of Victoria Street, Gillingham, pleaded not guilty to all offences.
The alleged offences took place in Woolwich and Eltham, south London, and relate to six victims.
He was arrested on February 12 following an investigation by Metropolitan Police detectives from the South East Safeguarding team.
He was further arrested on April 23 and charged on September 10.
His next hearing is set for November 19.
