Jan. 20--Chicago White Sox Executive Vice President Kenny Williams and his wife, WMAQ-Ch. 5 morning news anchor Zoraida Sambolin, on Tuesday sold their five-bedroom, 6,300-square-foot 19th-century Gold Coast mansion for $3.54 million.
Williams, 51, and Sambolin, 50, married in 2014. A former Sox player himself, Williams has been a White Sox executive since 2000, and he bought the graystone mansion in 2012 for $3.25 million. Sambolin returned to NBC 5 last year after working for CNN for several years.
The couple listed the mansion in October for $3.75 million. They recently paid more than $2.33 million for a four-bedroom, 7,265-square-foot mansion on Lake Michigan in New Buffalo, Mich.
Built in 1898, the Gold Coast mansion has been completely renovated. It has custom window treatments, designer lighting, an open floor plan with crown moldings, walnut floors in the kitchen and family room, a mosaic tile floor in the living and dining rooms, an eat-in Christopher Peacock kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances and a pantry closet, a study with a wet bar, a home theater, an exercise room, three laundry centers, a master suite with dual closets, a morning kitchen and an onyx spa bath. The mansion also has a shaft that can house an elevator.
Public records do not yet identify the buyer.
Listing agent Jennifer Ames did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
