Kenny Willekes named to Walter Camp Award Watch List

Michigan State’s Kenny Willekes will be joining Joe Bachie and Raequan Williams as the premier players for the Michigan State football team this year, and people are starting to take notice. It was announced today that the Spartans top pass rusher has been named to the Walter Camp Award Watch List, given to the top player in college football.

The Walter Camp Award is an incredibly prestigious award and the fourth-oldest individual award in college football. There are forty players on the Watch List.

This is the third preseason award Watch List that Kenny has been named to after the Nagurski Award and Bednarik Award, both given to the nation’s top defensive player.

This continues what is an incredible story. Willekes, who was a walk-on back in 2015, is now widely considered one of the best pass-rushers in college football. Willekes is still recovering from a broken fibula he suffered during the Redbox Bowl against Oregon.
