The preseason hype train for Michigan State’s star defensive lineman Kenny Willekes continues as he was just named to USA TODAY Sports’ preseason football All-American team on the Second Team.
This comes just a few days after Willekes was also named to The Athletic’s All-American lists. Unlike The Athletic’s list, USA TODAY only had Willekes on their All-American Team and not Spartan linebacker Joe Bachie as well.
I do not want to pick nits with these rankings because, as we know, they are not super important and just because someone isn’t ranked on one of these lists doesn’t mean they aren’t a real candidate, but I do think Raequan Williams has been a little slept on in some of these lists, and Joe Bachie obviously could have been on this list.
