Kenny Pickett planning to work with WR in the offseason

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett had an eventful rookie season, to say the least. After being the first-round pick of the Steelers after playing his college ball at Pitt, Pickett came in, worked hard and eventually took over the starting job.

For Pickett, it was the longest season of his career going all the way back to his final season in college, all the offseason workouts and straight into the NFL. But it sounds like even with that workload, Pickett is ready to get back to work in the offseason with his receivers.

Pickett was on 93.7 The Fan and talked about his rookie season and all the things that went along with it. Pickett said he plans to work with his receivers in the offseason to help work on that chemistry and just master the offense. The Steelers offense turned to a power run game in the second half to win games but the offense was 26th in scoring and 23rd in yards.

You really saw the game slow down for Pickett as the season went on and after the bye week, he showed an impressive command of the system. Unfortunately there are some limitations built into this offense thanks to offensive coordinator Matt Canda. Still, Pickett finished with 2,404 passing yards in 13 games and led the team to two game-winning drives down the stretch and those really showed Pickett had arrived.
