Kenny Miller warns Celtic over new manager appointment as he underlines fan demand

Former Celtic striker Kenny Miller believes his old club will have to recruit "the best" to satisfy fans after a disastrous season.

The campaign that started with the dream of 10 In A Row will end without silverware, manager Neil Lennon having resigned in March.

John Kennedy is in interim charge until the end of the campaign, with Eddie Howe lined up to step into the hotseat.

And Miller believes it will take a Brendan Rodgers level of appointment to placate fans after such a disappointing season.

He said on Go Radio: "They have to make sure they get the right appointment because the Celtic fans will demand that.

"From a quadruple Treble to not even getting a trophy is a big fall from grace.

"The fans have been spoiled over the last 10 years with the amount of trophies that the club has won so they will be demanding that they get the best in.

"The way they did when they got Brendan Rodgers in five years ago, they will be looking for an appointment of that ilk.

"They need to make sure they go through the proper process to make sure they get the right man, because the Celtic fans will be demanding that."
