Dundee are set to appoint Kenny Miller to lead their charge back to the Premiership.
Jim McIntyre was sacked on Sunday after a dismal season ended in relegation and it's understood the veteran striker will take over.
Miller had a brief stint as Livingston player-manager at the beginning of the season before moving to Dens Park.
But, even at 39-years-old, he's set to combine both roles once again.
Ironically, it was Miller's goal that ended Dundee's run of 10 straight defeats with victory over Livingston but Dens Park chiefs decided to give McIntyre the bullet anyway.
Managing director John Nelms flew to the United States for crisis talks with owner Tim Keyes after relegation was confirmed last week.

Nelms is understood to have told Keyes that Miller is now the man for the job.
Internal politics brought about the former Rangers striker's Livi exit but he remains keen to establish himself as a boss.
There's set to be huge changes if he takes over but Miller retains the respect of the Dark Blues' dressing room.
McIntyre was unable to turn around the club's ailing fortunes after replacing Neil McCann in October 2018.
A plan to bring in former Dundee player and assistant boss Billy Dodds was met with anger from fans, so McIntyre appointed youth coach Jimmy Boyle as his No.2.
Dodds had been unpopular in the wake of the club’s administration in 2010.
And despite being backed by his board in January, McIntyre couldn’t stop Dundee being relegated.

A club statement said: “Dundee FC can confirm that Jim McIntyre and Jimmy Boyle have left the club with immediate effect.
“Jim came to the club in October last year and shortly after Jimmy was appointed as his assistant.
“The management team oversaw 31 matches in charge, with three victories, seven draws and 20 defeats.
“We’d like thank Jim and Jimmy for their efforts while in charge and we wish them all the best.”
Miller has coaching experience from his time at Rangers and his short spell at Livi.
And the Dundee hierarchy believe his standing in the game will be crucial to getting the team back in the Premiership.
