Kenny Miller in Rangers Europa League head-scratcher as potential foe catches him out

Former Rangers striker Kenny Miller admits he's never heard of potential Europa League opponents LASK - but insists his old side can beat anyone at home.

The Gers second place in Group H on Thursday thanks to a draw with Young Boys at Ibrox and will be in Europe after Christmas for the first time since 2011.

Discussing their prospects on BT Sport, Darrell Currie asked the veteran striker if Austrian upstarts stood out as an ideal opponent for the knockout rounds and was met with a very honest answer.

Miller admitted: "I don't know who LASK are I've got to say!

"Listen, every team that's there has earned the right to be a seeded team in the round of 32 so looking at it there's a lot of tough ties.

"There are ones you'd look at and probably prefer.

"LASK, Malmo, Gent, Braga... (but) I think at Ibrox Rangers will fancy their chances against anybody.

"The tempo they set from the first whistle is outstanding, they get right after teams and get the crowd behind them and on their feet. So they've got a chance at home.

"If you get the right result you can always go away and dig something out."

In fairness to Miller, LASK aren't exactly the biggest name in European football.

They've won the Austrian Bundesliga just once and their best continental campaign to date was reached the second round of the 1984-85 UEFA Cup where they were thrashed 7-2 on aggregate by Dundee United .

The draw for the last 32 will be made on Monday.
