Kenny Miller claims Aberdeen should target £6m fee for Sam Cosgrove as he raves about goal-machine striker

Kenny Milller has hailed the improvement in Aberdeen striker Sam Cosgrove and suggested he will only depart the Dons for a bigger fee than the £6m they turned down for Scotland defender Scott McKenna.

The Englishman has been the driving force behind the Dons rise to third in the table after a indifferent start to the season, grabbing 19 goals in 25 games so far.

While plaudits have reigned in for Rangers ' Alfredo Morelos and Celtic talisman Odsonne Edouard this season, the veteran Partick Thistle striker reckons Cosgrove has become slightly underrated.

And while there are aspects of the 23-year-old's game that can be developed, Miller sees major positives in his skillset.

He told BBC Sportsound : "Yeah, his hold-up play needs tidied up a little bit but that will come. He's gone under the radar a little bit for me with the level of goals he's got.

"19 goals in 25 games is absolutely sensational.

"Because of all the attributes he's got, he is a real exciting option for teams down in England.

" Aberdeen knocked back £6m for Scott McKenna, no disrespect to centre-backs but strikers should be higher, and I'm sure Aberdeen will be looking at a higher fee than that for him."
