Kenny McLean: Scotland and Norwich star 'ruled out of Euros' leaving him devastated

Scotland and Norwich City midfielder Kenny McLean is said to be devastated after learning he will miss this summer's European Championships.

The Cambuslang star, who played a huge role in guiding Steve Clarke's men to their first major tournament in 23 years, suffered a knee injury in Norwich's 2-2 draw with Barnsley on Saturday and attended the club's English Championship trophy lift on crutches.

And now the Scottish Sun are reporting he has been told he will be out for 12 weeks and won't be available until the start of the season, ruling him out of this summer's tournament, which kicks-off on June 11.

According to the Sun, a source close to the player said: “Kenny is devastated. He feared the worst at the weekend, and he’s now been given the news he dreaded.”

It will be a huge blow to the former Aberdeen and St Mirren playmaker, who told Lanarkshire Live Sport last week that he was in the midst of the best season of his career after his success with Scotland and leading Norwich back to the English Premier League.

And the news will throw a spanner in the works for Steve Clarke's summer plans, as McLean was expected to be in the final 26-man squad for the games against Czech Republic, England and Croatia.
