Kenny McLean in glowing Celtic review as Norwich City star keeps saying the same thing about Ange Postecoglou's side

Norwich City star Kenny McLean admits he was mightily impressed by Celtic during Saturday's friendly clash. The Scotland international midfielder and his Canaries team-mates went down 2-0 after an accomplished performance from Ange Postecoglou 's side.

Goals from Daizen Maeda and David Turnbull proved enough to see off the EFL Championship outfit in the Premiership champions' final pre-season outing before their title defence begins at home to Aberdeen. Norwich boss Dean Smith reckons Postecoglou is building Premier League quality outfit in Glasgow and former Aberdeen and St Mirren star McLean was just as impressed, insisting multiple times post-match that they are a "really good team".

McLean said: “We want to win pre-season or not, the game didn’t feel like pre-season, it felt more than that with the intensity and atmosphere so it was a great test for us, perfect game. There is still plenty we can work on but it’s a work in progress and that’s a very good Celtic team.

“It’s good playing at Celtic Park, I’m sure it’s a venue that everyone enjoys going to, good atmosphere and it was a great test for us against a very good Celtic team who have been successful and they’ve added to that again.

“They’re a very good team, we knew that. We prepared like we would for Cardiff, we watched them, we analysed them and worked on set plays for and against, everything we would be doing to get into the right habits and I think we got plenty out of the game.”
