Scotland star Kenny McLean is a major doubt for the European Championships after suffering a serious injury during Norwich City's 2-2 draw with Barnsley.
The midfielder, from Cambuslang, won the English Championship title with the Canaries last week, but he hobbled off injured during the draw and City boss Daniel Farke fears the player has suffered knee ligament damage.
At his post-match press conference Farke said: “We have to wait a bit for the assessment but there are fears for the MCL and inner ligament.
“It was a tackle with speed and a straight leg on Kenny but we didn’t get a penalty.
“He was injured and I had to take him off.
"I hope it’s not too bad but we have to wait for a further assessment.”
McLean was seen on crutches with his right leg in a brace as City lifted the Championship trophy.
The former Aberdeen and St Mirren star played a major role in Scotland's qualification for the Euro, netting the winning penalty in a shootout win over Israel in the play-off semi-final and scoring Scotland's final penalty in the shootout with Serbia in the final to secure our place at a major tournament in 23 years.
