DETROIT _ Five Detroit Lions players, including wide receiver Kenny Golladay and tight end T.J. Hockenson, have been placed on the league's COVID-19 reserve list. The designation means the players either tested positive for the virus or were recently exposed to someone who did.
The other Lions players tagged with the designation after reporting for testing on Tuesday are cornerback Amani Oruwariye, punter Arryn Siposs and linebacker Jalen Elliott.
Across the league, 19 players were placed on the COVID-19 reserve list. With five players, the Lions had the most in the NFL. Minnesota and Philadelphia each had three players added to the list.
If a player tests positive for the virus, and is asymptomatic, he can be cleared 10 days after the positive test or five days with two negative tests. Players who are exhibiting symptoms are required to be out a minimum of 10 days after the first occurrence of symptoms and 72 hours since symptoms last occurred.
Lions players who tested negative for the virus Tuesday will be tested again Friday. If they test negative a second time, they'll be permitted to enter the team's facility on Saturday for the start of two weeks of conditioning.
Golladay is entering a contract year and is coming off a season where he set a career-high with 1,190 receiving yards while leading the league with 11 touchdowns. Hockenson, a first-round pick in 2019, finished with 32 catches for 367 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games. He missed the final four contests with an ankle injury.
