Kenny Goins unable to find minutes in first Summer League game for Denver

Heading into the Denver Nuggets Summer League, it was expected that Michael Porter Jr. would be the center of attention. The former lottery pick was finally healthy and after years of hype, this was finally the chance to see what he could do. For Michigan State fans, we were just hoping the Nuggets would give him enough rest for Kenny Goins to even have a shot to show what we can do for the team. Well, when Michael Porter Jr. was injured with a leg injury, I for one thought this was Kenny Goins moment. However, that wasn’t exactly the case, and Goins did not see the court in his first game for the Nuggets today.

This was pretty disappointing for me, as I thought Goins was going to be higher up the pecking order on their bench. Instead, Iowa Hawkeye alum Tyler Cook and Greek professional Rion Brown got most of the backup wing minutes, leaving Kenny on the bench.

Goins will get another crack at it on Tuesday at 8pm ET against the Boston Celtics.
