Kenny Dalglish warns Neil Lennon his Celtic job depends on fearless decision over star names

Celtic legend Kenny Dalglish believes "attitude and desire" could be more important to turning things around than pure ability.

Manager Neil Lennon is hanging by a thread after a meek draw with St Johnstone extended their miserable run of form to just two wins in 12 games.

That's the worst run since the 1994-95 season where Tommy Burns' side took two wins in 17 and finished fourth.

Before that draw with St Johnstone, Dalglish considered the situation in his Sunday Post column.

And the former Celtic director of football believes bad apples have to be weeded out.

Dalglish wrote: "There is still a lot of hard work ahead and nothing can be taken for granted.

"Another part of the problem is likely to be that, while most of the players will be hurting from the recent results and loss of form, not all of them will be.

"It's up to Neil Lennon to identify the ones he knows will give 100 per cent for themselves - and for the jersey - and play them.

"At this moment, attitude and desire may well override ability.

"Neil will take all of this into account when choosing his starting line-up because he knows there is little room for error."
