Kenny Dalglish launches merchandise range celebrating his stellar footballing career

Sir Kenny Dalglish has launched his own range of merchandise inspired by the greatest moments in his career.

The Liverpool and Celtic legend said he is "very happy" with the exclusive branded items which went on sale for the first time this week.

The range, which includes t-shirts and coffee mugs, is called KENN7 as a nod to the shirt number Scotland's most capped player wore throughout his career.

Some of the t-shirt logos feature the word 'KENN' next to an image of Dalglish celebrating famous goals which are shaped like a 'Y'.

They include his winner for Liverpool against Club Brugge in the 1978 European Cup Final at Wembley.

The t-shirts and mugs come in the colours of Scotland, Celtic and Liverpool.

Dalglish, 69, thanked the team involved in putting the range together in a message on Twitter.

He said: "Very happy with the result of the launch. Looks good.

"Hope I don't sound arrogant but you have all done a great job producing the range. Well done."

After the t-shirt range was launched online, Dalglish's son Paul, 43, joked on Twitter: "Might get some of these to wash my car on the weekends."

He added: "I will get you some for Father's Day @kennethdalglish."

Other logos in the range include the number 7 with a crown on the top of it in homage to Dalglish's nickname King Kenny.

There are also tartan designs on some of the items and a children's clothing range.

The t-shirts are on sale for between £20 and £25 and the mugs cost £10.

Dalglish tested positive for coronavirus after being admitted to hospital in April with an infection but is now recovering at home.

He was knighted in 2018 in recognition of his services to football, charity and the victims of the Hillsborough disaster in 1989.

He won four league titles with Celtic, as well as four Scottish Cups and a League Cup. At Liverpool, he collected nine league titles - three as managers - three European Cups and three FA Cups.

He also amassed 102 caps for Scotland, netting 30 goals to join Denis Law as the nation's all-time top scorer.

The range is available at Sir Kenny's website here.
