Celtic legend Kenny Dalglish insists the Parkhead players must know they have to match Neil Lennon's "fighting spirit".
The Parkhead icon has consistently defended Lennon so far this season pointing the finger at the dressing room previously claiming "they are capable of more."
Dalglish insists the now infamous press conference should have lit a fire under the stars, and stated Lennon was "damned if he does, and damned if he doesn’t" speak about the Dubai fallout.
With the January review of the gaffer's position set to be conducted in the coming days, Dalglish reckons the dressing room must share the blame while the Celtic hierarchy plot their next move.
Writing in his Sunday Post column, he said: "Some people were calling for change in the manager’s seat four or five months ago, but the club stood by Neil to give him as much opportunity as possible.
"Neil could call time on himself, but I don’t expect that to happen.
"Even now, he will believe he can get it all going again.
"Seeing his fighting spirit, and how much he is willing to battle for a more successful future, the players should know they need to up their game. They need to do more.
" David Turnbull and Ismaila Soro have been the shining lights in the past few weeks. There needs to be a greater contribution from others.
"The board needs to work as hard as they possibly can and make the right decisions for the benefit of the football club in the long term. There will be no short-term fix."
