Kenny Dalglish backs Rangers call for SPFL probe but urges Ibrox chiefs to 'produce their evidence'

Kenny Dalglish has backed Rangers ' call for an independent inquiry into the SPFL voting saga - but urged the club to produce their evidence.

As exclusively revealed in the Sunday Mail , Rangers have stepped up their push for an investigation into how league bosses handled the controversial ballot.

But chairman Douglas Park is not willing to hand over information - that allegedly shows the vote to be flawed and questions the integrity of the SPFL - while chief-executive Neil Doncaster, chairman Murdoch MacLennan and legal advisor Rod McKenzie are still involved.

Dalglish believes the SPFL's credibility is "on the floor" and welcomes calls for the episode to be probed.

However, the Celtic and Scotland legend also wants to see Rangers show their hand.

“I believe the SPFL ’s credibility is on the floor," Dalglish told The Sunday Post.

“There must be an independent investigation into the accusations made by Rangers against chief executive, Neil Doncaster, and legal adviser, Rod McKenzie.

“The Ibrox board need to produce their evidence and let it be looked at.

“It’s as simple and straightforward as that.

“The game in Scotland has gone backwards in the past few days.

“It looks like a bit of a shambles, and it needs cleaned up.”
