Kenny Burns on 'that' picture and some words of advice for Nottingham Forest defender Yohan Benalouane

I heard that Nottingham Forest defender Yohan Benalouane had posted a rather bizarre picture of himself on social media this week.

It featured his buttocks in an ultrasound image after the Tunisian received some criticism for not making the squad for this summer’s Africa Cup of Nations – and he’s probably got more hair on his backside than his head!

Playing for your country is a great honour, so I doubt he’d have pulled out of the Tunisia squad without a genuine reason.

Now, if anyone knows about unfortunate images of themselves appearing on the internet, it’s myself - you know what I'm talking about.

When I played for Forest in the 1970s, we were having the team pictures done one summer and it was a windy day at the City Ground.

My flowing locks were blowing in the wind and unbeknown to me, part of my anatomy had, shall we say, popped out.

I’ve never been able to live it down since, and there was little I could do about it because I had no idea it was hanging down.

It certainly wasn’t planned, and in my defence, it was a cold day.

Anyway, if having such problems were good enough for Marilyn Monroe, then they're good enough for me!

Players today need to be careful what they put on the internet because it’ll always be there, it never goes away – as that image goes to show.

I mean, the internet wasn’t even a thing 40 years ago and I’m still being reminded of that picture four decades on.

Players should just concentrate on playing football and ignore things like social media.

Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and so on, just keep away because it’ll only come back to bite you in the backside.

The best policy?

Say nothing.
