Kenneth Walker III finishes 6th in Heisman Trophy voting

Michigan State’s star running back Kenneth Walker III is apparently not as big of a star in the eyes of the Heisman voters.

Earlier this week the Heisman Trophy finalists were revealed, and shockingly Walker didn’t make the top four invited to New York City for Saturday’s award show. This had many Spartans fans upset, but apparently, he wasn’t even the first player left behind.

Matt Wenzel of MLive tweeted out on Thursday evening that Walker finished sixth in the Heisman voting — which surprised me personally.

Walker in my mind deserved to be a Heisman finalist so I’m shocked to see him come in sixth place. Especially after he won the Walter Camp Player of the Year award on Thursday evening.

It’s still massively impressive to finish sixth for the Heisman award and that shouldn’t be dismissed by anyone. I’m just personally surprised he didn’t finish higher.
