Kenneth Branagh is set to be honoured at the Oscar Wilde Awards.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Branagh will be feted in Santa Monica on March 24.
The director, whose new film 'Belfast' is based on his own experiences growing up in Northern Ireland at the onset of the Troubles, has already received acclaim for his directing.
The event celebrates the work of those from Ireland and others who contribute to TV, music and film, with Irish actor Dónall Ó Héalai also being honoured.
The Oscar Wilde Awards take place three days before the Oscars, with Kenneth contending in the original screenplay, directing and best picture categories.
Trina Vargo, organiser of the Oscar Wilde Awards said: "One of the highlights of this event is having the chance to introduce Irish actors and singers to a wider audience in the U.S."
Previously when Branagh was asked about the film's international acclaim and whether he was nervous about sharing it to a local audience, Kenneth he said: "I mean I'm excited. A long time ago I told myself there's no point in having nerves. Be excited. We're in a privileged position. I look at all this and, to be honest, it's surreal. To see Jude Hill running down that street, I think of myself playing with sticks and swords and upturned dustbin lids. To be here in this city is incredible.
"So I chose to be excited. And I also know the honest truth with Belfast folk is they'll tell you if they don't like it. But I also know they've been very supportive with what I've done."
