Kennedy Centre Santa's grotto closed by Covid grinch .. but there's some good news too

There's bad news ... but there's some good news too.

Santa has been barred from welcoming families to his grotto in the Kennedy Centre this year because of Covid.

But after a chat with Mrs Claus, the elves and St Nick have hatched a new plan according to the shopping centre bosses.

Instead of the children coming to see him ahead of the big day, he'll be making a special journey to their house.

And it'll gives him a chance to make sure he has his route just right for Christmas Eve.

A spokesperson for the Kennedy Centre in West Belfast, said: "We have been informed today that our Santa's Grotto can not continue to go ahead under the restrictions that have been put in place by the Executive.

"Unfortunately all visits will be cancelled with immediate effect.

"For anyone who has already booked, please contact Angela from Enchanted Events NI who has assured us that every child who has booked will have a house visit from Santa and will not be disappointed. We apologise for this late notice but it was out of our control."

A spokes-elf for Santa said: "We're just working out a little magic to try sort out the problem."
