Kendrick Norton crash: 22-year-old Miami Dolphins player has arm amputated following car accident

Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Kendrick Norton has had his left arm amputated following a serious car accident.

Florida police confirmed the 22-year-old's Ford F250 crashed into a concrete barrier and overturned on State Road 836 early on Thursday morning.

The 22-year-old's agent, Malki Kawa, confirmed the news with his client in a critical condition in hospital.

"With sadness, I can confirm that Kendrick Norton was in a car accident," Norton's agent Malki Kawa said on Thursday.

"He suffered multiple injuries, including the amputation of his arm.

"We ask that you continue to pray for him. His family also asks that the public respect Kendrick's privacy."

Norton is yet to play in the NFL but was signed by the Dolphins in December after the Carolina Panthers picked him up in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL draft.

A statement from Miami Dolphins read: "We were made aware this morning of a serious car accident involving Kendrick Norton.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Kendrick and his family during this time."
