Kendrick Lamar’s new video, for Alright, dropped overnight in Tuesday. The clip continues to explore the themes of Lamar’s album To Pimp a Butterfly, portraying a world in which the police and young black men are at opposite ends of the social spectrum. “These are issues that if you come from that environment it’s inevitable to speak on,” Lamar told the Observer last month. “It’s already in your blood because I am Trayvon Martin, you know. I’m all of these kids. It’s already implanted in your brain to come out your mouth as soon as you’ve seen it on the TV.”
