Kendrick Lamar isn’t resting on his laurels. Fresh from topping scores of best-of-2015 lists – including the Guardian’s – for his album To Pimp a Butterfly, he premiered a brand-new song on Thursday’s edition of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Untitled 2 – presumably titled as a reference to Untitled, which he performed on The Colbert Report in December 2014 – begins almost as a mellow, funky jam, before exploding into something angrier and harsher in its last minute and a half. It is, as ever, lyrically dense and packed with double meanings, red herrings and allusions. Have a listen, and let us know what you think.
