The rumour mill has churned out a bunch of speculation about the reportedly budding romance between Kendall Jenner and Jacob Elordi, to the point where it’s become difficult to sort through all the tea.
We got a flurry of updates about the pair’s relationship this week, adding to a persistent Coachella-borne rumour and evidence of an even longer connection unearthed by fans with the same passion as palaeontologists.
Now with so many reports surrounding ‘Kacob’ (quite the tongue-twister), we thought it necessary to provide a chronological timeline of Kendall Jenner and Jacob Elordi’s relationship, because something tells me a red carpet hard-launch may be on the horizon.
March, 2022: Jacob attends Kendall’s birthday party
Though romance rumours have heated up over the past few weeks, Kendall and Jacob have frequented each other’s social circles for years. One of the earliest times they publicly hung out was in 2022, when Jacob attended Kendall’s birthday party.
The Saltburn star was spotted at the event via clips and pics shared by mutual friends, with actor Luka Sabbat and musician Dominic Fike also in attendance. Jacob was seen singing happy birthday to Kendall in one clip from the event, which could mean nothing…
September, 2024: Kendall and Jacob attend a fashion show
Flash-forward to 2024 and we got another reported crossover when both Kendall and Jacob attended the Bottega Veneta fashion show in Milan in late September. They weren’t pictured together at the event, but both their names appeared in reports of the celeb-filled function alongside A$AP Rocky, Michelle Yeoh and more.
March, 2026: Kendall and Jacob attend the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty
Reports of the pair’s interactions dwindled until March of this year, when Kendall and Jacob were spotted having what looked like a deep conversation at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty — where they may or may not have been discussing the reportedly terrible red carpet lighting.
Kendall and Jacob were captured at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty by photographer German Larkin, who shared a picture of the couple in an Instagram carousel of other attendee couples like Kris Jenner and Corey Gamble and Dua Lipa and Callum Turner.
April 12, 2026: The Coachella tip that started it all
The whispers turned into an all-out roar in April, 2026, when gossip page Deuxmoi shared anonymous tips claiming Kendall and Jacob “were making out” at a Coachella afterparty hosted by 2026 headliner Justin Bieber.
The pair were apparently seen “enjoying each other’s company” and were “all over each other” at the event — and it was at this point that the rumour mill started spinning out like myself when trying to say ‘Kacob’ three times really fast.
April 14, 2026: Sources pour cold water on the rumours
The instantly viral Deuxmoi tip prompted a bunch of insiders out of the woodwork. One claimed to the Daily Mail that although there “is flirtation between them” and despite the rumours, “Kendall just isn’t Jacob’s type.”
“Nobody should hold their breath on this becoming the next celeb It couple,” the source claimed. “Late at night at Coachella isn’t usually the place to start a new love.”
Though such claims might’ve forced you to abandon the idea that two impossibly attractive people can find true love, they were somewhat disproven by another update (more on that later). The same source claimed that it was Kendall’s sister Kylie Jenner who was “rooting for something to happen” between the pair.
Kylie was apparently keen on “a bunch of fun double dates” with the couple and her own BF, Timothée Chalamet. “They both can have their Oscar-nominated men and just have the best times ever,” the insider claimed (again, more on this later).
May 17, 2026: Kendall and Jacob vacation together in Hawaii
In a development that probably has that source cowering in ‘oops’, we got our clearest evidence of relationship in mid-May, 2026, when Kendall and Jacob were spotted together in Hawaii.
Deuxmoi, which at this point deserves a Pulitzer, shared snaps of the pair having breakfast in Kauai, before other outlets papped them enjoying a shoreside hang out.
They apparently spent a few days in Hawaii before returning to Los Angeles. Is there such a thing as a ‘platonic’ vacation? Or are we so collectively thirsty from seeing them in a bikini and boardies that we’re manifesting a romance out of an otherwise friendzoned holiday?
May 18, 2026: Kendall and Jacob go on a double date with Kylie and Timothée
Maybe we weren’t crazy after all, because Kylie seemingly got her supposed double date wish when she was spotted on a hangout with Timothée, Kendall and Jacob in LA. The pics, again shared by Deuxmoi, show the foursome evading the cameras while in a car, and they look so similar to the ‘Bimbo Summit’ that I can’t help but feel like culture is back.
While some folks speculated about what exactly went down on the double date (me, I was some folks), a sneaky source provided a more thorough insight, telling People that the foursome “have a lot of fun together” and “really get along” because they have “similar personalities and lifestyles”.
Subtext: they’re rich and famous, and why not combine their richness and famousness for some internet-breaking paparazzi snaps?
The same source told People that Jacob and Timothée were established friends after crossing paths on the awards show circuit and “naturally running in the same circles”.
Prior to all these tabloid-ready developments, Jacob was reportedly in an on-again, off-again relationship with influencer Olivia Jade (of college admissions scandal infamy), while Kendall was linked to musician Bad Bunny, as well as basketballer Devin Booker.
The above timestamps are the furthest Kendall and Jacob’s relationship timeline stretches at this point, but with neither party publicly addressing all the chatter, expect a bunch more blind items and paparazzi shots to crop up in the meantime.
Someday soon, if we’re lucky, we’ll get official confirmation of Hollywood’s newest (and tallest) It couple, ‘Jelordi’ (now we’re getting somewhere!).
