Kemba Walker upgraded to “questionable” vs. New York Knicks

Some good news for Boston Celtics fans: All-Star point guard Kemba Walker has been upgraded to “questionable” ahead of the team’s game against the New York Knicks on Sunday, Jan. 17.

Walker has been out since the end of the 2019-20 Disney bubble postseason, working his way through a stem cell injection and strengthening program to shore up a bothersome left knee that limited his abilities in the 2020 postseason, recently being approved to return to practice. The UConn product did exactly that earlier this week after Boston held their first workouts at Auerbach Center since positive COVID-19 tests put the season on ice for a week, practice included.

While it is unclear whether the Bronx native will actually play, it would be a fitting guest for Walker to make his season debut against.

He made it clear after that practice session he won’t return until he feels completely ready and the training staff agrees, but regardless of the outcome, we are just a little bit closer to seeing the stepback assassin back on the court.
