The Boston Celtics announced earlier today that Kemba Walker is available to play on Monday night against the Los Angeles Lakers after missing Saturday’s game against the Phoenix Suns. That means that Walker will have another chance to stop one of the most prolific losing streaks in NBA history to LeBron James.
Walker is currently 0-24 against LeBron James in the regular season and also got swept by him in the playoffs as a member of the Charlotte Hornets/Bobcats franchise. ESPN’s Tim Bontemps interviewed Walker about his historic futility against James, giving LeBron credit for being the standard-bearer in the league during Walker’s time.
“What can I say? The guy was the best player to play in my league, in my generation,” Walker said. “He’s been the greatest player over the last, what, 15 years?”
Walker, an All-Star in the Eastern Conference over the last three seasons, looks primed to make another run at the All-Star team as he is averaging over 22 points and shooting nearly 39% from the 3-point line on nearly nine attempts per game.
Walker and the Celtics host LeBron, Anthony Davis, and the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. ET on TNT.
