Kemar Roofe shows Rangers love as Ibrox star pays Ally McCoist tribute

'Once a Ranger, always a Rangers' is something said on a weekly basis by some ex-player or another.

Former players from all over the world have spoken about how they are taken in by Rangers and their fans on a regular basis.

It's rare that a player will walk through the doors of Ibrox and leave without falling in love with the club and the support, and it seems to have hit Kemar Roofe already.

The former Anderlecht striker hasn't even had the joy of playing in front of the supporters yet because of the Covid-19 pandemic but he's clearly taken things to heart already.

He was appearing on the Super6 podcast with Laura Woods and Ally McCoist, and was determined to pay tribute to the Ibrox legend right away.

Roofe appeared on the show wearing a retro top from the days when McCoist was the man banging in the goals at Rangers.

He wore a shirt that Rangers wore from 1992 to 1994 so there's plenty of happy memories for McCoist in that one.

One of the most famous ones was in the 1993 League Cup Final when he climbed off the bench on his return from a broken leg to score the winning goal with an overhead kick against Hibs.

He quickly congratulated the current Ibrox frontman on the league title win and his shirt, and Roofe responded: "I heard you were coming on so I thought, let me wear the appropriate attire just for you."
