Kemar Roofe shares Rangers injury journey insight as he steps up return for Michael Beale new era

Kemar Roofe has given Rangers fans a glimpse into the hard work he is putting in behind the scenes in his bid to return to full fitness.

The Light Blues attacker spent a two week period in Qatar working on his rehabilitation as he bids to get back to his very best and force his way into Michael Beale's thinking with a huge summer rebuild already underway in Govan.

Allan McGregor, Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Scott Arfield and Filip Helander all depart with their contracts up with two new faces already in the door on pre-contracts. Kieran Dowell was the first summer recruit from Norwich City with Chelsea's Dujon Sterling quickly following with both signing on the dotted line. Jack Butland could be the next to follow after reported 'Tuesday talks' over a move north of the border.

It's been an injury hit campaign for Roofe but he will be hoping his hard graft and a full pre-season under his belt will have him fit and firing and prove to Beale he is worthy of a starting berth as part of the transformation. He rounded off his time working with specialists by taking in Rangers' recent win over Celtic with a supporters group.

The video uploaded by the 30-year-old shows him taking on a series of muscle based exercises while he also gets down to work on the treadmill.

Sharing the clip on Instagram he wrote: "Investing in myself. Aspetar giving me an extra boost for my return."

It's a huge summer for Rangers who also have Champions League qualifiers to play very early on in the season. They will have to safely navigate two rounds to return to the big table as Beale bids to do his transfer work early and get the squad settled.

They will also be keen on a fast start domestically in a bid to dethrone Celtic and Ange Postecoglou - who are on course to win a Treble this campaign.
